Intel has started using ASML Holding’s newest lithography hardware – the High NA EUV (extreme ultraviolet) machines – to produce processors, the Dutch chipmaking equipment maker disclosed alongside its quarterly earnings report.

The milestone makes Intel the first company to deploy High NA EUV technology in commercial production. ASML’s latest machines are critical for shrinking transistor sizes beyond what current EUV systems can achieve, enabling the next generation of more powerful and efficient chips.

ASML’s quarterly results topped expectations, with demand for its advanced lithography systems remaining strong as chipmakers race to stay competitive in the AI era.
