Sable, a startup building what it calls the first AI employee capable of leading customer interactions end to end, has raised a $45 million Series A round led by Sequoia Capital with participation from 8VC.
The company has developed an AI agent named Aidan that can run live product demonstrations, handle sales calls using real-time voice and vision, and manage customer onboarding. The AI handles roughly 90% of interactions without human escalation, according to the company.
Sequoia partner Shaun Maguire said he was initially skeptical until the AI ran a flawless demo of Sable’s own product during their pitch meeting, convincing him to lead the round. The agent operates across a company’s website, video calls, and support channels.
Sable plans to use the funding to expand its engineering team and scale deployment beyond the several dozen enterprise customers already using the platform. The company charges roughly $9 to $10 per conversation, positioning the AI as a cheaper alternative to human sales development representatives.
