Redwood City-based startup 8090 Solutions raised $135M for a platform that lets enterprises build custom software using coordinated AI agents under human supervision, with Salesforce leading the round.

Founded in 2024 by prominent startup investor Chamath Palihapitiya, who serves as co-founder and CEO, 8090 Solutions builds a development environment where non-technical users describe what they want in natural language and AI agents generate the corresponding code, APIs, and database schemas. A human overseer reviews and approves each component before deployment.

The approach targets the massive backlog of enterprise software requests that IT departments cannot keep up with. By combining multiple specialized AI agents that handle different parts of the software development lifecycle, the platform aims to deliver production-ready applications in days rather than months.

Salesforce led the round through its corporate venture arm, reflecting the CRM giant’s bet that AI-powered low-code platforms will reshape how enterprises build internal tools. The company has not disclosed its valuation but the round size suggests a valuation well north of $500M.

8090 Solutions differentiates from pure no-code platforms by emphasizing the human-in-the-loop governance model. Every AI-generated component must pass human review before it reaches production, a design choice aimed at enterprise buyers who are wary of fully autonomous code generation.

The company plans to use the funding to expand its engineering team, particularly in AI safety and agent orchestration, and to build out its go-to-market organization targeting Fortune 500 companies.
