The money comes from the firm’s Customer Value Fund, a vehicle tied to customer growth rather than equity, and ranks among its largest commitments. It lands after Function quietly bought Getlabs, which runs at-home blood draws, and SuppCo, which rates over-the-counter supplements. The startup had already acquired MRI provider Ezra in May 2025, building a scanning network past 200 locations.

The Austin company was set up in 2021 by Jonathan Swerdlin, Pranitha Patil, Dr Mark Hyman, Seth Weisfeld, Mike Nemke and Dan Swerdlin. Its bundle stacks more than 160 lab tests, roughly five times a standard physical, with imaging meant to catch cancer, aneurysms and stroke early, all inside one annual subscription.

Function says it has signed up over 500,000 members and completed more than 100 million lab tests since its 2023 beta. Competition is heating up: Neko Health, co-founded by Spotify’s Daniel Ek, raised a $700M Series C at nearly $7B in July, and Prenuvo generates about $250M in revenue from whole-body MRI. Function’s counter is bundling labs, imaging, draws and supplement guidance into one subscription.

General Catalyst partner Pranav Singhvi, co-head of CVF, said the firm sees Function as having created an entirely new approach to health. The startup’s answer to the 31-day wait for a primary care appointment is data before the doctor’s visit.
