Seattle startup Levanta has closed a $22M Series B led by Volition Capital, with Long Run Capital participating, bringing its total funding to $43M.
Levanta runs a matchmaking network between retail sellers and creators: it connects brands with more than 90,000 vetted influencers who share product samples and earn sales commissions in exchange for promotional videos. Sellers typically set affiliate rates of 15% to 20%, and Levanta handles performance measurement, creator payouts, tax automation and flat-rate brand deals. It charges sellers a flat fee and takes a cut of platform-driven sales.
The company has been profitable or break-even every year since launch and employs just over 100 people across the US and Asia-Pacific. CEO Ian Brodie says the round will fund expansion beyond Amazon into Walmart, Shopify and additional marketplaces, plus growth in international markets including Europe.
The bet sits in a fast-growing lane: EMARKETER expects affiliate marketing to drive more than $240B in US e-commerce sales this year, up about 12%, as TikTok Shop, LTK and others compete for creator-driven commerce.
