AusperBio Therapeutics has closed a $120M Series C to push its hepatitis B therapy through Phase 3 and toward commercialization.

The round was led by an undisclosed strategic investor, with RA Capital joining as a new backer. Returning backers include CDH Investments, Qiming Venture Partners, YuanBio Venture Capital, HanKang Capital, Sherpa Capital and InnoPinnacle Fund.

The financing brings the San Francisco-based biotech’s total capital raised since 2024 to $360M, a sign of investor conviction in its lead candidate AHB-137, an antisense oligonucleotide therapy heading into a Phase 3 registrational program.

A second candidate, AHB-171, an siRNA therapy aimed at the same disease, is also in development, and the company keeps operations in China.

The bulk of the funding supports the AHB-137 registrational work and readiness for bringing the drug to market.

The round reflects a market increasingly willing to fund late-stage clinical execution over platform promises, with several large biotech raises landing this week.
