Enflame Technology, the Tencent-backed AI chipmaker, has priced its Shanghai initial public offering at 142.18 yuan per share and aims to raise about $908M, Reuters reported. Bloomberg pegged the haul at roughly $911M, a difference within currency rounding.
The listing lands amid a wave of Chinese chip companies testing public markets as Beijing pushes semiconductor self-sufficiency. Enflame develops AI accelerators aimed at training and inference workloads, a category where domestic demand has surged as export controls limit access to top-end Nvidia hardware.
Tencent’s backing gives the company a marquee strategic investor and a path to deployment inside one of China’s largest cloud and gaming ecosystems. The IPO proceeds are earmarked for product development, manufacturing partnerships and working capital as the company races to scale production.
Chinese AI chip listings have drawn heavy retail interest this year, with several names trading well above issue price in early sessions. Enflame’s pricing suggests cautious optimism, with the company banking a solid but not frothy valuation ahead of its debut.
For the broader sector, the offering is a test of investor appetite for domestic alternatives to Nvidia at a moment when demand for AI compute shows no sign of cooling.
