Corporate events remain a relationship business, which is why consolidating two of them is harder than buying software. Naboo just did it anyway.
The Paris event technology scale-up absorbed pro-ven, a UK meetings and events specialist, and rebranded the acquired business as Naboo UK. The combined group now oversees €269M ($300M) in meetings and events volume worldwide.
The deal was financed with an even split of equity and debt, following a €58.7M Series B that gave the company the balance sheet to move.
Why buy instead of build
Event technology has been consolidating as venues, agencies and travel managers push to standardise booking and reporting. Organic expansion across borders is slow because local supplier relationships and venue contracts do not port between markets.
Acquiring an established UK operator buys those relationships immediately. The UK remains one of Europe’s largest markets for corporate meetings, and pro-ven brings a client base that Naboo can layer software onto.
Rebranding on day one signals a single-platform strategy rather than a holding company of agencies.
The integration risk
Merging an agency culture into a product company is where these deals usually stumble. Agencies run on account managers and bespoke service; software companies run on repeatability and margin.
Naboo’s test is whether it can keep the service quality that won pro-ven’s clients while pushing volume through its own tooling.
For European event tech, the deal marks another step toward a handful of scaled platforms, leaving smaller specialists to choose between joining one or competing on service alone.
