Terasi has raised €11M in seed funding, co-led by the NATO Innovation Fund, to scale its battlefield communications technology.
Join Capital co-led the round, with new investors In-Q-Tel and D3 joining alongside returning backers Navigare Ventures, Almi Invest, Onsight Ventures, Further Than Capital and KTH Ventures.
The Stockholm company builds component parts that transmit large volumes of data at high frequency, packaged into pocket-sized hardware that creates secure gigabit-speed wireless links without fibre or towers. The technology targets defence, satellite and telecoms customers, and Terasi describes itself as the only European manufacturer able to deliver a flexible system for contested environments without compromising on security or deployability.
Comms under jamming
European militaries are rebuilding around the assumption that satellites, fixed networks and spectrum itself may be disrupted. That has turned resilient radio into one of the more active corners of defence technology, with venture money following.
Chief executive James Campion said the funding lets the company get its capabilities into the field faster and extend them beyond the battlefield to critical infrastructure and remote industrial sites.
