Metycle has lined up €131.7M in credit from Rivonia Road Capital, the California private capital manager that lends against assets, adding debt months after a €14M Series A.

Industrial buyers across 15 countries take its secondary copper, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, which the company sources, upgrades and resells. Trading volume tells the same story: more than €103M of recycled metal moved through its books in the past 12 months, a 150% jump on the year before.

Three parts hold the model together. A global trading desk covers sourcing, contracts and risk. SmartSorting hubs, the first of them in Maasmechelen, Belgium, combine AI-enabled sorting with mechanical separation and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, turning mixed scrap into feedstock that matches what a buyer specified. TrustTrack ties each batch to its origin, quality, processing and logistics records.

What limits this market is not how much buyers want recycled metal. It is whether supply arrives predictably, the company argues.

Co-founder and chief executive Rafael Suchan puts the goal this way: “Our opportunity is to make secondary supply behave more like an industrial raw material: specified, traceable, and reliably delivered.”

The market it sells into is still splintered: specifications and paperwork vary too much for transactions to be standardized, verified and financed at scale, which is the gap Metycle is trying to close. Grids, electrification projects and data center construction all lean on these two metals, and financing more material is how Metycle means to sell into that demand.
