SiMa.ai has closed a $150M Series C at a $1.45B valuation, money it intends to aim squarely at Nvidia.
Newcomers AllianceBernstein, Baron Capital and J.P. Morgan joined the round, with Dell Technologies Capital, Alter Venture Partners and StepStone Group back for another go. Fidelity Management and Research and Amplify co-led the financing.
Physical AI, in this telling, covers hardware that perceives the world and acts on it: robots, drones, driver-assistance systems. The category is surging, yet Nvidia’s CUDA stack runs expensive and power-hungry, which counts when a delivery drone or a factory arm has to live on a battery.
Agentic tools for robot builders
Palette Neat, SiMa.ai’s agentic development environment, gets the first slice, alongside work on the next Modalix system-on-chip for embedded robotics.
The company says the fresh silicon will hit 1,000 TOPS in the first half of 2028 by leaning on low-power design rather than raw throughput. Nvidia’s flagship Jetson AGX Thor modules reach 2,000 FP4 TOPS.
Partners include Bosch, Micron, Synopsys, Emerson, ARK Electronics and AverMedia, with customers spread across drones, humanoids, automotive advanced driver assistance and AI cockpits.
Chief executive Krishna Rangasayee calls physical AI a $50 trillion market that modern innovation has barely touched, arguing that rivals are still repurposing cloud offerings while SiMa.ai has built the whole stack.
