Catalio leads $40M round for women’s health data company Evvy

Roughly 30 years is all the research record holds on female biology, because drug trials mostly shut women out until 1993. Evvy is betting that closing the gap is a measurement problem first, and it has banked $40M in Series B money to keep building the layer that fixes it.

Catalio Capital Management ran the round. New to the cap table were Alumni Ventures, Muse Capital, Rethink Impact and the US Fertility Innovation Fund. Left Lane Capital and General Catalyst returned with LabCorp Venture Fund. The company, legally Allora Health Inc., launched in 2021 under Priyanka Jain, Laine Bruzek and Pita Navarro.

One swab is the entire interface. Patients mail it in, the lab runs metagenomic sequencing, registered clinicians read the output, and results land in a portal next to a diagnosis, an interpretation and a plan that can include prescription care.

Adoption is the argument the company makes. More than 100,000 patients have been served across the United States, 3,000 practitioners work with the platform, and the company counts 15 peer-reviewed papers and abstracts along with bacterial vaginosis subtypes and hundreds of vaginal microbiome genomes that had never been catalogued.

CEO Jain offers starker evidence for why any of it matters. Some conditions get misdiagnosed in more than half of cases, and common vaginal symptoms return above 60% of the time.

The long game is a dataset tying biology to symptoms, treatments and outcomes, feeding an AI engine called EvvyAI that sharpens with each new test. Jain wants an at-home sample that eventually reads like a modern Pap smear, and the business has already pushed into fertility research.
