Data security startup Mind lands $72M as AI agents spread

Mind says revenue rose more than 17-fold in the past year as enterprises tighten controls on AI tools.

Mind, the data security company built around keeping sensitive files away from AI tools, has banked $72 million in a Series B. The money funds a push into large enterprise accounts, new hires and channel partners. Crosspoint Capital Partners led, joined by returning backers YL Ventures and Paladin Capital Group, taking total funding to $112 million.

The software hunts sensitive files wherever a business keeps them – SaaS apps, employee endpoints, email – sorting each by contents and context. Then policy takes over: a risky action can be stopped outright, or the worker who tried it sees a message naming the rule it would have broken.

Legacy DLP products were written for predictable, human-paced work, Mind argues, an assumption that collapses once AI agents read, rewrite and pass around company data with nobody in the loop. The same worry runs through Mind’s own polling from this year, with 65% of enterprises unsure their controls over the data headed into AI systems are good enough.

Mind’s answer shipped in July as AI DLP Agents. Analysts steer them in plain English through a Model Context Protocol interface, and the agents handle classifier building, policy drafting and incident investigations. Chief executive Eran Barak said security leaders are asked to protect data moving at AI speed with manual tools built for a slower world.

Growth is steep but thin on detail: revenue up more than 17-fold in a year and customers eightfold, Mind says, with no underlying figures released. Barak instead describes eight-figure revenue and dozens of customers across hundreds of thousands of endpoints. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles keeps patient records out of staff AI tools with the platform; the National Geographic Society uses it to label sensitive documents. In May it became the first data security vendor accepted into Anthropic’s Cyber Verification Program.
