Advertising creative is the newest application Mistral AI wants inside its own product. The French model developer has bought Pimento, a Paris startup set up by Florent Facq and Tomas Yany that generates campaigns from a brand brief.
Pimento’s tooling generates campaign creative from a brief, a brand identity and increasingly performance data. Facq said the team will join Mistral’s engineering and product groups to improve the user experience of Vibe, the group’s conversational agent. Mistral has not issued a formal announcement, and reported terms of the transaction differ.
The deal follows Koyeb, a serverless infrastructure specialist, and Austria’s Emmi AI, which works on physics models for industrial engineering. Together they sketch a deliberate turn: Koyeb supplies the plumbing to run agents, Emmi brings vertical science, and Pimento lands an application already embedded in marketing workflows.
Down the stack, into the workflow
Three years in, Mistral is no longer content to sell models that other software companies build on. It is moving toward the tools companies actually use, days after raising €3B to fund external growth.
Pimento counts Partech and angels including Hugging Face co-founder Julien Chaumond among earlier backers, and had been rebuilt substantially since that 2023 seed round.
