Yali Capital and TDK Ventures have led an $85M round for Ultraviolette Automotive, the Indian maker of the F77 and X-47 electric motorcycles.
Walden International chairman Lip-Bu Tan invested and joins as an adviser, alongside existing backers including Lingotto, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motor and Speciale Invest.
The Bengaluru company sells in India and 20 European markets, among them Germany, France, Spain, Portugal and the UK. The capital funds production scale-up, new EV platforms and international expansion, building on an in-house stack that spans batteries, power electronics, vehicle architecture, software and radar-based rider safety. Ultraviolette recently announced a plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, with capacity for up to 500,000 units a year.
The Tesseract scooter launches early next year, followed by the Shockwave enduro motorcycle. Founders Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan are targeting US entry in 2027, with Latin America and Southeast Asia after that.
Yali Capital’s Ganapathy Subramaniam said the segment’s sheer scale makes electric two-wheelers the main lever for cleaner mobility in India, and pointed to how much of Ultraviolette’s engineering, from powertrain to radar, has stayed in house.
