Complaion has banked €13.5M in seed funding to take some of the grind out of compliance for Europe’s smallest companies. Eurazeo and Italian Founders Fund co-led the round.
Shapers, 2100 Ventures, Kfund, Sella Direct Ventures, Enzo Ventures, Vento, Ithaca, Eden Ventures and Vesper also joined.
Edoardo Tarricone, Marco Cortinovis and Alessandro Vaccarino started the Milan business in 2024. Its model does not treat software as the whole answer: certified lead auditors and compliance specialists work alongside the platform. Complaion says that platform absorbs as much as 80% of the manual effort, can shorten a certification timeline by up to five times, and has already seen more than 900 companies certified through the service.
Regulation as a software market
Buyers skew toward healthcare, manufacturing and construction, with logistics, agri-food and software firms also signing up. Coverage runs from ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 to the newer ISO 42001 for AI management, plus environmental and equality standards and European rules such as the NIS2 Directive and the AI Act.
The bet is that procurement teams increasingly demand documentation before they sign, and smaller suppliers cannot staff compliance departments. Complaion’s edge is the mix of tooling, regulatory knowledge, audit history and human accountability: a model can draft a policy, but it cannot certify that a company follows it.
The round funds hiring, platform development and deeper expansion across Europe.
