Another London fintech has found a US buyer. Intuit has acquired Sequence, a startup that automates billing, payments and revenue management for software companies, in a deal the Times reported at roughly $200M.
Sequence was founded in 2021 by Riya Grover and Eamon Jubbawy and built a tool that sits on top of finance operations, chasing invoices and reconciling revenue as a company scales. Its customer list reads like a who’s who of fast-moving software firms, including Legora and Cognition.
The founders are repeat players. Grover ran food tech startup Feedr, sold to Compass in 2020 for $24M. Jubbawy co-founded identity provider Onfido, which went for $650M in 2024, and now leads climate startup Isometric.
Backers include Andreessen Horowitz, Passion Capital, firstminute capital and 645 Ventures, with around $40M raised in total. The Times reports Grover holds more than 45% of the company and Jubbawy more than 15%.
For UK AI founders, the sale is a useful data point: a four-year-old company with a narrow, unglamorous product found a strategic buyer at a multiple most European exits never reach. Tech.eu described it as one of the largest exits by a UK AI startup with a female co-founder.
For Intuit, the logic is consolidation. The accounting giant has spent years buying pieces of the small-business finance stack, and automated billing sits close to the revenue data its core products already touch.
Grover called the deal a milestone, saying Intuit gives Sequence room to operate at greater scale.
