Highland Europe has closed a €1.1 billion sixth fund to keep backing growth-stage technology companies across the continent. The London and Geneva firm has now raised €3.75 billion across six funds since launching in 2012, backed more than 80 companies and completed 30 exits.
Limited partners saw more than €1 billion flow back to them over the past year as Highland’s portfolio hit big exits. Nexthink was sold for $3 billion, Huel agreed to be acquired by Danone, EGYM and Playlist merged in a $7.5 billion deal, and Bending Spoons debuted on Nasdaq.
Highland’s portfolio spans legal AI, workflow software and consumer brands, with names like 9fin, AMCS, Camunda, Featurespace, GetYourGuide, n8n, Nothing, Wolt and Zwift on its books. Recent investments include leading the $70 million Series B for legal AI platform Wordsmith, the $50 million Series B for enterprise AI delivery platform Unframe and the $105 million Series D for precision agriculture company Ecorobotix.
The firm also promoted Helena Richardson and Jacob Bernstein to partner. Richardson joined in 2016 and Bernstein in 2017, and both have worked on a number of Highland’s portfolio companies over the past decade.
The close lands at a time when European venture fundraising has been uneven, with fewer deals but larger checks flowing into AI-heavy sectors. Highland partner Sam Brooks said the fund lets the firm continue backing Europe’s most ambitious founders as AI reshapes every industry.
