Business energy bills are still reconciled by hand in much of Europe. A Valencia startup just raised €7.5M to automate the paperwork.
Linkener closed the round with Klima, the energy transition vehicle of investment bank Alantra, leading, while GoHub Ventures stayed on the cap table as an investor since 2019. Product work, its own AI models and acquisitions are where the money goes.
At the core sits an Intelligent Energy Management System built from the company’s own remote metering hardware, analytics and machine learning. Consumption tracking, invoice validation, supply-contract comparison and anomaly flagging all run through it, pointing customers at savings. More than 2,000 businesses and 10,000 supply points are on the platform, consuming 1.7 TWh a year, roughly what a city of 400,000 people uses.
The bet is that the software side outgrows the services business. New models are meant to take over invoice processing, cross-check consumption against readings in the millions each day, and surface recommendations. Chief executive Jose Ignacio Ruiz describes a sector still running on practices four decades old, and wants customers to see where their money goes before the bill lands.
Buying rivals is part of the plan. Klima partner Inigo Echaniz said the fund backed the team to consolidate a fragmented market both organically and through deals.
It is Klima’s second AI energy software bet, after leading Dexter Energy’s €23M Series C in July 2025, and it sits at the opposite end of the value chain, selling to the companies that consume power rather than the ones that trade it.
The open question is proof. The International Energy Agency puts average savings from energy service projects at about 25%, and Linkener’s own figures have not been independently audited.
