Emergent, an AI startup that lets users build software using natural language prompts, has raised $130 million in Series C funding at a $1.5 billion valuation.

The round was led by Creaegis, with MNI Ventures, Claypond Capital, and Sentinel Global joining as co-lead investors. Existing backers Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator also participated.

Founded in 2024 by brothers Mukund Jha and Madhav Jha, Emergent enables individuals and small businesses to create production-ready software through its agentic AI platform. Since launch, more than 12 million applications have been built on the platform.

The startup’s valuation jumped from $300 million during its Series B in January to $1.5 billion today. Total capital raised now stands at $230 million across three rounds.

Mukund Jha told YourStory that custom software typically costs between $50,000 and $500,000, while Emergent delivers similar solutions for $1,000 to $5,000. Users have built applications ranging from digital storefronts to ERP systems.

Emergent operates across 190 countries, with roughly one-third of revenue from the US, another third from Europe, and about 9% from India.
