Team8 stacks $365M to back AI-native startups at seed stage

Israeli venture firm Team8 has raised $365M in new capital, combining $265M for its third flagship fund with more than $100M earmarked for follow-on investments in existing portfolio companies. Assets under management now sit near $2B across eight funds since the firm’s founding in 2014.

The new vehicle is aimed at seed and Series A deals in cybersecurity, software infrastructure, fintech and digital health, prioritizing startups whose products assume AI from the start.

The thesis draws on a survey of 111 security leaders at the firm’s CISO Village Summit: 97% of organizations have started adopting AI agents and 80% run them in production, yet average confidence in their ability to secure AI sits at just 2.32 out of 5.

Rather than betting on foundation models, Team8 backs the layers enterprises need to put AI to work safely and reliably, including infrastructure, orchestration, identity, data and security. The newest fund banked an exit before its final close, following Palo Alto Networks’ reported acquisition of portfolio company Koi Security in February.

Firon, the managing partner, argues the era’s real shift is in company economics: the hard part is no longer inventing technology but building something that lasts, with moats forming around data, security and distribution rather than the model itself.

The timing reflects a broader turn in venture: capital is drifting from model development toward the plumbing that makes AI usable in the enterprise. Agent security looks especially promising as autonomous systems collect access to company data, apps and credentials.
