Three former executives of Danish neobank Lunar have raised €8.2M for Repodo, an audit firm built from scratch around AI, in what is described as Denmark’s largest pre-seed round to date. Hedosophia and Seed Capital led the round; both previously backed Lunar. The fourth co-founder is Anders Houmann, a licensed auditor.
Ken Villum Klausen, Lunar’s former CEO, is joined by former CFO Peter Andreasen and former chief product officer Joachim Strøjer Hansen. Repodo targets small and medium-sized businesses, automating data collection, reconciliations, documentation and transaction analysis while keeping qualified auditors responsible for judgment and final sign-off. Houmann’s licence lets the Copenhagen-based firm approve statutory accounts itself.
The pitch is a redesign of an operating model that still leans heavily on manual work. Klausen, who stepped down as Lunar CEO earlier this year, argues AI should take over repetitive processing rather than remove auditors, giving professionals more time for risk and judgment.
Repodo is entering a concentrated market: the four big audit firms hold roughly 97% of it, and Europe’s auditing services market is projected to grow from about $74.3B in 2026 to nearly $99.7B by 2031. The startup says it will expand beyond Denmark into other European markets as it builds what it calls an audit firm for the AI era.
