More than 76% of Indian consumers prefer talking to businesses over the phone, and voice AI startup Ringg is betting that preference keeps paying off. The company has raised $10M from Peak XV Partners as an extension of its Series A, taking the round to $15.5M.
Ringg already processes 20 million call attempts a month, handling support and outreach calls with AI agents that sound and behave like trained representatives. The startup began life as DesiVocal, a text-to-speech company, but founders found training their own speech models expensive and moved up the stack to build voice agents for enterprises instead.
Indian fintech Cred became its first customer, and the company has since expanded into other sectors where phone interactions dominate customer service.
The extension from Peak XV, one of India’s largest venture investors, signals confidence in voice AI as the next interface layer for Indian business. Unlike chatbots, which consumers often ignore, voice agents inherit an existing behavior: people in India still pick up the phone.
Ringg’s bet is that volume keeps climbing, and that enterprises will pay for agents that can close the loop from first call to completed transaction.
