Spanish launch startup PLD Space has extended its Series C to €288M, adding a €108M tranche led once again by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

Spanish state-linked fund manager COFIDES is co-investing after joining the initial Series C, while new investors include Endeavor Catalyst and the Spain Oman Private Equity Fund, managed by MCH Private Equity. Banco Santander advised and Deloitte provided legal counsel.

The extension builds on a banner year for the Elche-based company: a €158.9M award from the European Space Agency under the European Launcher Challenge last month, a €180M Series C in March, and a €30M European Investment Bank venture debt facility.

Founded in 2011 by Raul Torres and Raul Verdu, PLD Space builds the MIURA family of reusable launchers and the LINCE crewed capsule. The new capital will support MIURA 5 industrialization, production and test capacity, launch infrastructure, and the shift toward commercial operations.

The round underscores Europe’s push to rebuild independent launch capability after years of relying on foreign rockets. With ESA contracts and private capital stacking up, PLD Space is positioning itself as the continent’s leading small-satellite launch provider.
