Lasso Security has raised $30M and launched LEAP, an AI guardrail that inspects prompts and actions on ordinary server CPUs, with no graphics chip required. ClearSky Advisors led the round, with Entrée Capital increasing its stake and iAngels, Singtel Innov8, Mindset and Swish Data joining.
Most enterprises that screen production AI traffic run every request through a second large language model, which demands accelerated hardware whether or not the request is dangerous. Lasso argues that cost forces companies to sample a fraction of their traffic and accept risk on the rest.
LEAP is transformer-free and returns a verdict in under five milliseconds, a speed the company says is thousands of times the throughput of existing guardrails. A second engine, RAPID, runs a self-hosted model that rules on the small share of decisions needing judgment against policies written in plain language.
Co-founder and chief executive Elad Schulman says the debate over putting AI in front of customers is settled, and security now has to inspect what agents do, not just what they say. Co-founder Ophir Dror calls guardian-agent setups great until someone pays the GPU bill.
Founded in 2023, Lasso counts BMW, eToro and Five9 among customers and says revenue grew more than 500% in the past year. Total backing now exceeds $37M, and the fresh capital funds hiring in Tel Aviv and New York plus a push into federal and regulated-industry accounts.
