European clinicians have been slow to trust US health AI. Tandem Health is treating that caution as a funding opportunity.

Stockholm’s Tandem Health has collected €86.49M ($100M) in Series B funding led by the Scaleup Europe Fund, the €5B vehicle managed by EQT, with existing investors Kinnevik, Northzone, Amino Collective and Visionaries following on.

The round is unusually large for a Series B and lifts total funding to about $160M, after a $50M Series A in 2025. Valuation was not disclosed.

Tandem builds an AI medical assistant that drafts clinical documentation inside existing record systems. More than 10,000 healthcare professionals now use it, and the company plans to expand across Europe while widening the product into what it calls an AI-native clinic operating system.

The Scaleup Europe Fund is deploying quickly, backing French lab Mistral and a Finnish satellite startup within weeks of this deal.

Why it matters: European healthcare is the hardest market for US health AI to crack, so a locally funded vendor with clinician distribution already in place holds a structural edge.
