Eindhoven’s EUCLYD pulls in €200M for cheaper AI inference

EUCLYD has raised more than €200M in Series A funding to build ultra-efficient inference silicon aimed at the AI compute crunch.

Every token a large model emits carries a bill, and memory bandwidth absorbs a stubborn share of it. Eindhoven’s EUCLYD has persuaded investors to fund that bottleneck directly, closing a Series A worth more than 200 million euros ($231M).

Samsung took a lead position in the round, alongside Somerset Capital Partners. Two more leads arrived from Innovation Industries and the EQT-managed Scaleup Europe Fund. Denmark’s EIFO financed part of it, with Quadri, imec.xpand and the Brabant Development Agency also participating. Peter Wennink, ASML’s former president and chief executive, will chair the board.

Bernardo Kastrup and Atul Sinha founded the semiconductor systems company in 2024 at High Tech Campus Eindhoven. Their design pairs programmable ASIC compute with processor-memory co-design and system-level tuning, aimed squarely at constraints that make frontier models costly to operate.

Two pieces of hardware anchor the roadmap. One, craftwerk station CWS, is billed as the lowest-power exascale AI factory. The other, craftwerk, is marketed as the first agentic AI silicon.

Samsung’s role runs past the checkbook. As one of the largest memory manufacturers on the planet, it can supply parts and systems know-how, and bandwidth plus packaging decide how quickly a processor chews through heavy workloads.

One caveat sits under the announcement, since the hardware has yet to prove itself at scale. Rack systems will go to enterprises that host their own inference, while the intellectual property gets licensed to chip designers. Shipping starts in 2028, with thousands of enterprise customers as the 2030 goal.
