Integral is a services business rather than a software vendor. The Berlin company pairs licensed tax professionals with AI engineers and sells finished accounting, tax and payroll work to small and midsize firms, and it has just closed an €18M Series A.
Total funding now sits above €30M, under two years after launch. Mosaic Ventures and Reid Hoffman led the round together. Cherry Ventures, General Catalyst and Puzzle Ventures, all backers from earlier rounds, returned.
Payroll arrived by acquisition, with German payroll and HR provider cleverlohn bought in November 2025, following a €6.3M raise that February.
Clients buy the output, not a dashboard. Agents on the platform match invoices to bank transactions, post entries to the ledger, run payroll and draft the tax filings. A licensed professional then checks and signs each one, and every review flows back into the system as training signal, which the company says keeps sharpening the automation.
Integral reports that agents carry the books from start to finish for more than half its client base, shrinking the typical month-end close from weeks to hours. Staff at Integral Tax, the licensed German audit and tax firm tied to the company, now handle twice as many clients each as they did in January.
“A licensed professional does, and there are fewer of them every year,” said co-founder and CEO Lukas Zörner, who argues that the firm itself, and not one more tool for accountants, is the answer.
