Indurex looks past the network to guard plant safety settings

Amsterdam's Indurex has raised €7M for software that reads engineering and safety configurations rather than network traffic.

Most industrial security tools watch the network. Indurex argues the more dangerous data sits in the engineering settings underneath it.

The Amsterdam company raised €7M in a round led by Contrarian Ventures, with Axeleo Capital and Curiosity taking part. Customers are drawn from oil and gas, energy, utilities, manufacturing and data centres, including mid-sized operators and large multinationals.

Reading the configuration layer

Its SafeGuard AI platform pulls in data from control systems, safety systems, operational equipment and IT security tools to build a combined picture of a plant. AI agents then flag anomalies, engineering deviations and risks, with recommended actions attached.

That matters because traditional operational technology security concentrates on traffic, leaving limited visibility into engineering configurations and the safety systems that decide whether a facility operates inside safe limits. The platform also produces compliance reporting against functional safety and cybersecurity standards.

The company argues cybersecurity and operational excellence have been managed as separate disciplines, leaving a gap its software fills by treating engineering data as the core signal. The fresh capital funds R&D and a push into Europe and the Middle East, with the United States and Asia-Pacific planned later.
