Blue Fire AI has closed a $9M funding round and struck a partnership with Japan’s Mizuho Financial Group and Asset Management One.
AM-One, which manages more than $500B, will take a minority stake in the Singapore company and distribute investment products powered by Blue Fire’s neuro-symbolic decision engine to institutional and retail clients.
The pitch is research at scale. Blue Fire says its engine lets portfolio managers run bottom-up fundamental analysis across far more securities than a team can read by hand, flag overvalued names and repeat the process on schedule rather than on instinct. Neuro-symbolic describes systems that pair learned pattern recognition with explicit rules, a combination vendors market as easier to audit than a pure model.
AM-One president Noriyuki Sugihara said the tie-up should strengthen his firm’s AI-driven fundamental research capabilities.
The deal hands a small Singapore vendor a distribution channel into one of Asia’s largest asset managers, a pattern that is becoming common as Japanese financial groups buy stakes in AI startups instead of building the technology in-house.
