Care homes gain AI billing tools as Lottie absorbs CareMaster

The UK care software group adds billing and credit control expertise as it leans harder on AI to cut admin.

London’s Lottie has absorbed CareMaster, a billing specialist that has served UK care operators for a quarter-century, as the software group drives AI deeper into day-to-day care work.

The CareMaster roster runs to almost 75 providers, whose tools reach past 750 care home sites. Its specialty is the heaviest back-office work a care business carries: billing, payments and credit control. Lottie did not disclose the terms.

The purchase follows Lottie’s 2022 acquisition of Found, then a care CRM used by under 100 care home locations. Lottie has since rebuilt Found as an AI-native product, and the platform should cover close to 2,500 care services across the UK by the end of 2026.

Chief executive Will Donnelly describes social care as a sector weighed down by manual administration. He argues AI can lift that load without eroding the human core of the work, giving teams more hours for the people they look after.

Lottie projects that Found and CareMaster together will underpin £3B in yearly invoicing by mid-2027, against more than £1B today. International markets beyond the UK are on the roadmap.

The wager is that operators pinched by climbing costs and thin staffing will pay for software that deletes paperwork. General-purpose admin suites are circling, so Lottie has to prove its care-specific depth justifies the premium.
