Isomorphic Labs seeks a $40B price tag ahead of its first trial

The DeepMind spinout is reportedly back in the market at roughly twenty times its May raise.

A $2.1B Series B closed in May without Isomorphic Labs attaching a price to the company. Barely five months on, the DeepMind spinout is reportedly shopping a number for itself: no less than $40B.

That figure comes from Bloomberg, whose sources describe early-stage conversations about fresh capital. One of them floated a ceiling of $50B. Neither the amount being sought nor the backers involved has been disclosed, nothing has been confirmed, and the terms remain fluid.

Founded in 2021, the London company exists to convert DeepMind’s research into drug discovery pipelines. In that time it has never pointed to a clinical-stage program capable of justifying a price tag this large.

Measure it against the sector and the contrast is hard to miss. Grand View Research puts AI in drug discovery at $2.3B for 2025, rising to $13.8B by 2033 at a compound annual rate near 25%. Were Isomorphic to land at $40B, it would be worth almost three times what the entire field is projected to be worth in 2033.

What biotech founders should take from this: money is pooling behind a handful of platform narratives instead of being spread across pipelines. The distance between the few best-funded players and the rest continues to grow.
