Few categories are minting billion-dollar software companies faster than legal AI right now, and Harvey is the poster child.

The San Francisco legal AI firm is in talks to collect at least $500 million, a deal The Information says could price the company at $15.5 billion. That mark sits $4.5 billion above where its March round valued the business.

Revenue momentum is doing the heavy lifting: annualized sales recently crossed $350 million after hovering near $190 million in January, and the reported valuation jump tracks that curve.

The software automates routine legal chores, from hunting down regulations to drafting contracts from gathered records. A May update added agentic workflows that break large projects into parallel subtasks and flag humans when a step needs judgment.

Sequoia and Coatue anchored the earlier $200 million round, and returning backers typically join late-stage raises. The unnamed participants may matter less than renewal rates: law firm AI contracts will decide whether that $15.5 billion holds.
