Perplexity is growing into its valuation. The AI search startup has pushed annualized revenue above $750 million, roughly triple where it stood at the start of 2026, according to figures cited in The Information’s report on its latest funding discussions.
Nvidia, already an investor, is in talks to join an equity round worth billions that would value the company at more than $30 billion, the outlet reported, citing people familiar with the matter. That mark would clear the $20 billion valuation Perplexity carried about a year ago.
Answering questions built the audience; automating work is the growth story. Perplexity Computer, a cloud-based agent that handles routine computer tasks for professionals, has been a major contributor to the recent acceleration, The Information reported. The company, founded in 2022 by engineers from Google and OpenAI, made its name with an answer engine that responds with cited sources rather than a page of links.
Beyond Nvidia, the cap table includes Jeff Bezos, SoftBank Group, IVP, and New Enterprise Associates, and total funding to date tops $1.5 billion.
