Moonshot AI is negotiating revenue-sharing deals with Microsoft, Amazon and Google that could put its Kimi K3 model on America’s biggest clouds, Reuters reported.

Under the talks, Moonshot would take up to 30% of what the cloud giants earn from hosting Kimi K3. The negotiations are early stage, and open questions on revenue splits, data access and how tokens are counted could still sink them.

Kimi K3 carries 2.8 trillion parameters, making it the biggest open-weight model yet released. Few organizations can run it on their own hardware, so hosting it in Azure, AWS or Google Cloud is the realistic option for most users.

The talks collide with Washington’s restrictions on China’s AI sector. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said last month that Moonshot could be added to a trade blacklist, and US officials have accused the company of improper model use and chip acquisition, claims Moonshot denies.

No Chinese model developer has yet struck a formal revenue-sharing deal with a top US cloud, which is why the talks are being watched so closely across the industry.
