CADDi, a Tokyo- and Chicago-based manufacturing AI company, raised $114M in a Series D that values it at $1.2B.

Its core product, CADDi Drawer, dates to 2022 and treats decades of drawings as a searchable archive. Engineers query old part designs by geometry or specification, while buyers run the same queries to find duplicated components and benchmark what suppliers quote. Roughly half of Japan’s hundred biggest manufacturers now sit on the customer list.

A new Manufacturing AI Data Platform, launched in Japan in August, is now rolling out in the U.S. The company says design files, purchase orders and inspection results usually stay with whichever team created them, and its software resolves what those records mean so staff and AI agents can pull from one shared set.

CEO Yushiro Kato has argued general-purpose AI cannot handle this data. “I’ve never seen anybody who uses LLMs to do design reviews because it doesn’t understand drawings or CAD,” he told Fortune.

CADDi did not name a lead investor. Moore Strategic Ventures, Coreline Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, Toyota’s Woven Capital and Recruit’s HR Tech Fund joined as new backers, with Atomico, Globis and JPS returning. The company last raised a $38M extension in March 2025 at a $470M valuation and has now raised $234M in total. Headcount has grown about 50% to roughly 900.
