Cloud bills have become the surprise nobody budgets for, and North Cloud Holdings just raised $60M to sell companies a way out. PeakSpan Capital led the Series B, with Litquidity Ventures, Companyon Ventures, Alpaca, Gaingels, Uncommon Denominator and Mana Ventures participating.
The company is building what it calls an autonomous financial operations platform, aimed at forecasting and controlling what enterprises spend on public cloud and AI infrastructure rather than just reporting on it after the invoice arrives.
A problem AI made worse
The unwieldiness is structural. A single AI feature deployed to production might call multiple backend systems repeatedly, and each hop costs money in a pattern that is genuinely hard to model in advance.
Executives at large organizations routinely admit they cannot predict next quarter’s cloud line item. Analysts and platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud deliver reliable scale, but the invoice that follows carries both a steep and a variable price.
Where the money goes
North.cloud plans to spend the round developing that automation layer, widening its integrations with third-party systems and scaling go-to-market. The bet is that as agentic systems proliferate – each one autonomously triggering paid infrastructure – finance teams will need software making cost decisions continuously rather than monthly.
The company has not disclosed revenue figures or customer counts, and the valuation remains unannounced.
