YGO takes EUR 8M to make travel inventory readable by AI agents

Berlin's YGO wants travel suppliers to win back the 15 to 25 percent that booking platforms take from every reservation.

Travel suppliers have spent years handing online travel agencies a cut of 15 to 25 percent of every booking just to be visible. YGO raised EUR 8M on the argument that conversational assistants let those suppliers keep more of the money.

Ventech led the Series A, with Sake Bosch, Caesar Capital and several business angels joining. Julian Kogel, Willi Ibbeken and Sebastian Kreutzberger started the company, whose software connects travel firms to airlines, hotels and tour operators, then exposes that inventory to AI agents for search, recommendations, service and direct reservations.

The obstacle is the state of the data. Hotel and package details sit scattered across rate codes and reservation systems built for human screens. YGO reorganizes those records so a model can read them, which unlocks semantic search, tailored offers and automated checkout across flights, lodging and activities.

Built alongside, not instead of, legacy systems

Because suppliers keep their own booking stack, the pitch is additive rather than disruptive. Condor, Bentour and GetAway Group already process bookings through the platform.

Two data points carry the sales case. One airline cut manual work by 90 percent while lifting conversion 20 percent, and a second client grew average order value 2.4 times without hiring. Ralf Usbeck, who founded TravelTainment and Peakwork, has signed on to the team.

The fresh capital goes into sales, platform work and accounts beyond the German-speaking market, at both large and mid-sized travel companies. Kogel’s claim is that his industry still runs on plumbing built for a pre-AI era; the cost of a misfired booking is the reason many buyers wait.
