Chinese robotics company D-Robotics has closed a $400 million Series C, betting that the brains inside robots will prove as valuable as the machines themselves.
The funding goes toward the company’s Sunrise chip family and a full-chain software platform spanning data collection, model training, simulation, inference and deployment.
Scale is the number the company wants noticed. Shipments of its Sunrise silicon have now cleared 8 million units, and revenue grew several times over during the first six months of 2026. The Sunrise S600, launched this year, has already been designed into products at more than 20 customers. Embodied AI, D-Robotics adds, has reached mass production.
The strategy mirrors a pattern across Chinese robotics: sell the computing substrate and development tooling rather than a single robot model. By covering hardware and software together, D-Robotics aims to serve many robot categories at once, from industrial arms to mobile platforms.
China’s embodied AI sector has drawn heavy capital this year. Xpeng’s robotics unit banked $900 million in August, and a string of humanoid makers have filed for listings. Chip supply has emerged as a choke point as model sizes grow and on-device inference moves into production.
D-Robotics did not disclose its valuation. The round lands as Chinese chip designers lean on domestic fabs and state-backed funds amid export controls on advanced processors.
