Europe’s growth-stage funding gap has a new chequebook, and it was filled faster than most funds manage first closes.
Seaya has raised €600M for Seaya Nova, a growth vehicle that will write €20M to €50M cheques into Series B to D rounds, leading or co-leading. Commitments came together in six months, anchored by the European Investment Fund under the European Tech Champions Initiative.
From seed to scale
The Madrid firm now runs three strategies: Seaya Ventures at early stage, Seaya Andromeda for impact investing and Nova for growth. Founder Beatriz González framed Nova as the natural extension of thirteen years of company building.
Vinoth Jayakumar joins from more than a decade of European growth investing, with Revolut, Wise, Thought Machine and ICEYE among the names on his record. He takes the managing partner title, and a new London office opens alongside Madrid.
Jayakumar’s argument is that Europe can now produce category leaders but struggles to scale them locally, and that AI is compressing the distance between product-market fit and leadership, pulling capital demands earlier and larger.
The fund’s real test will be concentration: whether European scaleups can grow to global size without relocating their headquarters, lists or senior teams to the United States.
