Razer, the gaming hardware and lifestyle brand, has taken over StreamElements, the Israeli startup whose overlays, alerts, chatbots and tipping tools support thousands of livestreamers. The assets were bought from owner Live Momentum for an undisclosed price.
StreamElements will keep operating as a standalone platform with its existing tools, according to an FAQ published by Razer. Creators can continue using the service as before, and Razer says it has no plans to fold the platform into its own software.
The acquisition gives Razer a direct foothold in the creator economy at a moment when livestreaming tools have become essential infrastructure for streamers on Twitch, YouTube and other platforms. StreamElements competes with the likes of Streamlabs, and its suite spans channel management, sponsorship workflows and audience analytics.
For Razer, the deal is a bet that hardware alone is not enough to own the gamer relationship. The company has been pushing into services and software, and StreamElements adds a monetization layer that touches millions of creators and their viewers.
Terms were not disclosed, but the transaction marks one of the bigger creator-economy deals of the year and gives the Israeli startup’s founders an exit after years of growth. Razer said it would share more about how StreamElements fits into its broader ecosystem in the coming months.
