Velatir’s €5M seed closed with two co-leads: Spintop Ventures, a new backer, and Ugly Duckling Ventures, which already held a stake. Norrsken Evolve and angels Jan Oberhauser of n8n and Thomas Visti of Universal Robots and MiR also joined, and Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund added a matching loan.
The financing lands six months after Velatir’s pre-seed round and follows its commercial launch. The company was founded by Michael Sørensen, Elias Sørensen, Christian Møller and Andreas Paulli.
Velatir builds an infrastructure layer that gives companies visibility and control over their AI sprawl – tools, employees, agents, vendors, devices and the systems beneath them. Its platform bundles security, policy enforcement, usage monitoring and discovery, with a catalogue of more than 4,000 AI tools.
COO Christian Møller argues that “sovereign cloud” often turns out to be American platforms wearing a European label. Velatir runs entirely on European-owned and hosted infrastructure, skipping US hyperscalers – a harder path the founders insist is the only viable one as regulators press on data flows.
The proceeds fund a wider European expansion and fresh hiring. For businesses racing to adopt agents, the pitch is simple: compliance and control tools built in Europe, for Europe.
