French fleet startup Voltaback plugs €28M into charging reimbursements

The startup turns bills, meters and vehicle data into URSSAF-ready reimbursements, and it already counts Veolia and BNP Paribas as customers.

Companies that hand employees a car face a billing headache once refueling moves into the garage, and Voltaback believes software can settle it. The French startup has raised €28M for a platform that manages electric fleets and repays home charging, with no extra hardware required.

Its system pieces together data from meters, utility bills and connected vehicles to rebuild each home charging session, prices it against that worker’s own power contract, and produces a receipt that satisfies URSSAF. Voltaback says the method is protected by a patent and has been checked by Bureau Veritas. It also rests on an advance ruling from URSSAF.

The economics drive adoption. A worker left unreimbursed for charging at home is out roughly €600 a year and shifts to public chargers, where the employer’s bill can reach €2,000 annually for the same power.

Scale has followed. Over the last twelve months the platform reached 20% of CAC 40 companies, putting Veolia, Equans, BNP Paribas, Sanef, Lyreco and Loxam on the customer list, and Veolia is deploying it across at least 6,000 electric vehicles. France logged 241,565 new electric car registrations in the first half of 2026, equal to 28.2% of the passenger market. Voltaback has also pushed beyond charging: combustion fleets now use it for mileage tracking and CSR reporting. The round funds an expansion into six European countries and a larger team.
